AndroidZoom Trends

We’re proud to present Androidzoom’s new feature: AZ Trends. Some time ago, we published AM Zoom, which analyzed as far as it was possible Android Market results and possible outcome. After a great effort from our technical team, tools to create new reports will be available from now on to everybody. We deeply believe that this new feature will be of great help to developers and, within Android’s spirit, we wish that it be free and available to anyone who wants to use it.

How does it work: AZ Trends takes out, gathers and shares the info from our own database to facilitate the Market evolution until now. AZ Trends shows how many apps are active from each category and compares them with each other. This way, it’s easy to predict its near future and foreseen what is to come. You can narrow results filtering by free or paid, rating or downloads. AZ Trends tries to help developers to create their own market research.

It’s supposed that the most unexplored categories may have a greater degree of tolerance to new apps; while developing an app from a category that’s already saturated can be a task fraught with unexpected consequences, i.e. a number of downloads lower than expected. Anyway, we’ll let everybody draw their own conclusions, owing to the fact that Android Market has some peculiarities that characterize it. We’re sure that our users will find new and original uses to this tool. You can use freely any info found in AZT, please just attribute it to AndroidZoom.

Without further ado: you’re invited to use it and please, any feedback will be appreciated.

Thank you and happy AZ Trending!

Androidzoom launches Spanish website.

In Androidzoom, we consider very important that the spirit of Android reaches around the world and arrives to everybody. Despite the great effort Google made to improve its translator, language remains a barrier to many people. Therefore, we are proud to introduce the latest enhancement to our website. From now on, Spanish speakers may choose to see it in their language, just going to the bottom right of the page they will see a dropbox where they can choose between English and Spanish.

Unfortunately, reviews and the descriptions given by the developers will continue in English, at least for now.

To all our other friends around the world, know that soon we will be adding more available languages, so that no one will be left without discovering the best Android apps.

¡Disfrútenlo, amigos! (enjoy it, folks!)

AZ Safe search

Time ago, we understood that the app market grows very fast and the tools to filter the contents were more and more necessary. Because many users prefer not to have certain kinds of results in their searches, we intended to help them creating a feature called ‘quality filter’.

After working on it, we have relaunched this feature.

For example, users who do not wish to see adult content can exclude those results from their searches. Likewise, other users prefer to ignore the ”themes” because they are actually looking for apps or games.

So from now on you will find next to the search tab a “SafeSearch” link . Mouseover it to choose among three options: “no adult content”, “no adult content or themes” and “all content”. We know that no filter is perfect, but at least it should help the user save time and specify their searches. We think it’s pretty self-explanatory, so you’d better go and see it four yourselves. Happy androidzooming!

AZ mobile version: the easiest way to discover the best apps

We wanted to bring the best and most useful Android apps directly to your palm. Thanks to all of you who already requested it by contacting us through hello@ and for those who have waited for it patiently. The new mobile version of AndroidZoom is already here.

From now on, every time you log in AndroidZoom from a smartphone, you will get a lightweighted and fast loaded version of it. It’s as easy as it seems. The website will recognize your mobile browser and change to the new lightened version. In order to make easier the discovery of the best Android apps we have added the “Categories” tab in the top-right side of the website. Moreover, you may choose the search criteria in the same way than in the web version, by selecting the tab “All”, “Free”, “Paid” or “On Sale” and by sorting it by “Newest”, “Popularity” or “Rating”.  If you are looking for an specific app just write its name down in the search bar.

We are glad to offer you all this new feature and we really hope it will boost your apps discovery.

It’s already available, so stop reading here and go check it out!

Happy new AndroidZoom site discovery!

New integrated Facebook’s login system

Get access to all the AndroidZoom’s features easily thanks to its new integrated Facebook’s login system.

Since now, making the most of the AndroidZoom’s features it’s as easy as being a Google or Facebook user. We have integrated Facebook’s login system into AndroidZoom to make easier the registering, skipping by this way, to fill never-ending forms with your data (until now you just could register by Google’s login system). Likewise, you may sign in the same way, which will make you save time since you won’t have to type each time your username and password (unless you are logged out of your Facebook or Google account). You may find both tabs “Sign in” and “Register” in the top right corner of AndroidZoom.com.

We hope you will find it convenient.

Happy new AndroidZoom site discovery!

Two new great AndroidZoom features!

Attending to our users improving aims, we have been developed two interesting new features for AndroidZoom. Take a glance at it:

Tabs and filters

Until now, when one user clicked on one of the tabs (All, Free, Paid, On Sale) it automatically appeared sort by newest and, when that user chose another sorting criteria (Popularity, for instance), it turned into the All tab with no reason. Now, if you click in the tab Free, for example, and then you sort by Rating it will show, as it is meant to be, the best rated free apps. The best point is that sorting criteria will remain even if you choose another category (Arcade & Action Games, Business apps, Entertainment… whichever you click on). It improves greatly your search efficiency, don’t you think so?

On Sale Tab → Sort by Price

We have presented you in a previous post the new On Sale tab which is the sales section of AndroidZoom. There you may find those applications which have brought its price down or even those which have turned into free. In order to make easier the discovering of the best discount apps, we have added Price in the sorting criteria. So since now, if you click on the On Sale tab and then you sort your search by Price you will get a list which first will show those apps which have turned into free followed by those with highest discount.

We are glad to present you these new features and we really hope you will find it useful

Happy new AndroidZoom site discovery!

New AndroidZoom, all the new features.

Besides the Price Drop, we have improved some of the features of AndroidZoom in the latest version released. Take a glance at it!

Icon view

The next new feature of the latest version of AndroidZoom.com that we are going to present is the Icon View. Now you can choose between the classic List view of the apps of each category and the Icon view that will allow you to see at a glance the apps in an easier way, without scrolling down the bar. As well as in the classic view, you may sort the apps by Newest, Popularity and Rating. Likewise, the Icon View it is available for all the categories and section of the site. The difference is, basically, that you will see just the icon and the name of the app. The strength of this new feature is that it makes your app discovering faster and easier. If you are interested in one of the app of the list, you just need to click on it to get to the app’s page. There you  will have the option to check it deeply and to download it.

We are pretty sure that as well as money (by the new Price Drop tab), AndroidZoom.com users want to save some time in their app discovering. For that reason, we have launched the new Icon View. We really hope it will be a fruitful tool and you will make the most of it.

My menu

Have you tried to sign in in the latest version of AndroidZoom.com in the last few days? As well as other new features which we are presenting in this post, the user’s account menu has been improved in order to make easier the way the users manage their app’s lists and their reports. Unlike the previous My menu options located in the top of the categories frame, we have put the users account options together in a drop-down list in the new My menu. One of the strengths of the new featured My Menu is that the  AndroidZoom users do not need to create a new account to get access because we have integrated the Google’s login system.

Regular users will have access to their customized lists of apps by “My lists” and will be able to send reports by “My issues sent”. Those users who are also developers may use the added value services from AndroidZoom developer’s account: receive feedback from the users of your apps and add additional relevant information to your app’s profile.

The main goal of the new featured My Menu is to improve the ease of navigation and the management of the users accounts.

Easy downloading

One of the most important sections of AndroidZoom.com for users is the app sheet which contains all the information about the application: reviews, downloading means (QR, links to the Android market, direct download of .apk), screenshots and videos, comments, permissions and changelog (updates). Since it is the primary source of information for AndroidZoom’s users, we have tried to improve its design and its accessibility. And this is the result:

The new design of the tab-bar on the top allows us to get to the different sections easily. All the content of the app’s sheet is accessible from this tabs. Useful, easy and fast!

Under the tab-bar you will find how many people likes that app in Facebook which is an indicator of its popularity and success (but you have to take in account that those people click on “Like” from Androidzoom’s app sheet).

Below you may check the main appdata: rating, price, version, publisher, file size, amount of downloads, package. The buttons on the right side: QR Code (the new button that links app sheet in the Android market by a QR code), Add to list (to add the app to your list of favorites app in your AndroidZoom’s account), and, finally, the iFrame to embed the widget of the app in your site.

If you click on “Download” you may choose the option you prefer to download the application: QR Code, direct download link in your e-mail or manually install from the Android Market.

The review, under the download button, will bring you the information about what the app is, how it works, developer info, versions compatible, pros and cons and rating.

Finally, at the bottom you may check the recent changelog, what list the app has been included in and the available screenshots of the app.

We really hope you like the new design and the new features we have included in the latest version of AndroidZoom.com. Feel free to check it out and give us some feedback if you consider that there are things that could be improved! But, above all, have a… Happy new AndroidZoom site discovery!

New AndroidZoom feature: Price drop.

We know that the price is one of the issues that really matters to Android users, who are always looking for saving some money in their app downloads. Getting the best Android applications at the lowest price it is not as easy as it seems: you need constant updated information. AndroidZoom’s team has developed a tool to help you out in that point: the new Price Drop tab. Next to the “All”, “Free” and “Paid” tabs you may find the new “Price Drop” tab which is the sales section of AndroidZoom. There you may find those applications which have brought its price down or even those which have turned into free.

By clicking in the Price Drop tab you will get into the list of app sales. As well as the others filter tabs, you may sort the apps list by Newest, Popularity and Rating. You will also be able to choose between the list view and the icon view (another of the new features of the latest version of AndroidZoom.com). Once you have chosen the filter options which you prefer, you may scroll the bar down to seek those apps you are interested in. Each application label includes the name, the icon, the developer, the description, a link to a similar app, the price, the rating and then, under the rating, the new price drop label. It will be green if the app’s prices have been brought down (with the percentage off on it) or red if the app has turned into free (100% off).

We are really glad to present you this new feature and we hope it will be a useful tool to improve your experience as Android user. Take a glance at it now and again and do not miss the best app offers.
