The day has come. It’s time to live those two exciting weeks that only occurs once every four years. Fifteen days to feel Worldwide shared values of sports: self-improvement, teamwork, effort, wellness, perseverance… Up to 360 hours of intense feelings: hope and letdown, joy and sorrow. We’re just a few hours away from London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony and we can already feel the spirit of Olympic Games.
However, this time we’re going to live them in a different way: the Android way. Yes, we know that some of you already had Android devices during Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. However, we’re just talking about a tenth of users and apps of what currently made up the Android community. The dawn of Google mobile OS has occurred throughout these last four years.
Today, most of us we’ll be able to follow Olympic games news and results as we never did thanks to our Android devices. In this post we wanted to recommend you some apps and games to get into the Olympic mood. Keep reading!
The first application can be used for keeping track of everything that’s going on in the London 2012 Olympics
London 2012 Result Apps
London 2012 Result apps is the official application. The design and usability is outstanding and it has six main tabs to access all the information: Live, Schedule & Results, Sports, Medals, Athletes and My games. Easy to use and reliable, we didn’t find any flaws so this might be the perfect app for staying up-to-date with the 2012 Olympics.
Knowing is important… but having fun too! We wanted to talk about two other Olympic-related apps: this time is all about playing and having fun.
London 2012 Official Game
London 2012 official Game has some flaws (heavy download, long loadings and in-app purchases) but also many advantages like its clean graphics, a wide variation of sports and a high playability. Yes, it could be more original but it’s one great sport app for those who want to spend the 2012 Olympics wishing they were there.
Retro Athletics is a retro-designed game, a nostalgic Olympics application with pixels and a simple gameplay. Two game modes: Single Event and Championship and six different sports to play. The application has great controls that make it really enjoyable and it’s overall a fun game for these times.
